Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is your new patient procedure?

All patients are first scheduled for a free discovery session. This will allow us to discuss your condition and how we can help. Afterward, patients will schedule a one-hour exam, which may include treatment on the first visit. Following the exam, we will plan out your treatment plan together and find something that fits both your schedule and your condition.

  • I'm already seeing another chiropractor, why would I come see you?

That’s great news! We still encourage you to come in for a free discovery visit to see if we are a better fit for your complaints. The truth is that most chiropractors do about 10% of what we do at Synergy. In addition to what a 'typical' chiropractor may do, we offer many other services like soft tissue treatment, exercise programming, and rehab exercise.

  • Do I have to get adjusted? Do you have to adjust my neck?

Of course not! An adjustment is extremely beneficial, but we have many other techniques and protocols that we can use to get the results that you need!

  • I'm going to physical therapy, why would I come see you?

We love to see our patients utilizing healthcare to take away their pain! Synergy provides all of the same services that a typical physical therapy clinic would. The difference is the time and personal attention you get at our clinic. Your entire visit is spent 1-1 with a doctor and you will only receive exercises catered to your goal, never cookie cutter.

  • You talk so much about exercise. What does that have to do with chiropractic?

I believe that proper exercise is often the BEST form of medicine for anyone. Most people in pain will benefit from the 'mixed' approach of both chiropractic care as well as proper exercise.

  • Once I see a Chiropractor, do I have to keep coming?

We never force any of our patients to come in and get treated after their injuries have calmed down. However, many patients do choose to come in routinely to maintain wellness and strengthen areas before they turn into injuries.

  • What should I wear to my Appointment?

To make this simple and easy, we ask patients to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing (i.e. gym wear) for most treatments and tank-tops/ shorts for treatment of the upper back, shoulders, and knee.

  • My other chiropractor lays me on the table, cracks my back and I leave. Is that what you do?

No. In fact, this is about as far from what we do as possible. We will spend time working on you, doing hands-on treatment but also expect that you are willing to learn and move your body!

  • I have arthritis. Can you help me?

Yes! But understand there is no CURE for arthritis. What we can do is manage the symptoms that come from arthritis. Many people with arthritis get to a point where they have no pain at all! My goal is to get you strong and be able to age as healthy as possible!

  • Will you tell me to stop working out or training?

In the vast majority of cases, NO! My goal is always to help you continue to train or exercise even while seeking treatment.

  • Will I need a referral from my doctor or a prescription to see you?

Nope. Just give us a call and we can get you right onto the schedule.

  • How often will I need treatment?

This always depends on the specific condition but generally treatment plans are no more than 2x per week.

  • Will I be in pain after the treatment?

In general, no. In some cases, people do experience muscle soreness similar to as if you lifted weights for the first time in a while. All of this will be explained during the treatment and you will know exactly what to expect when you leave.

  • I'm working out with a trainer, will you be able to coordinate with them as to what I can and can not do?

100% yes! Many patients find us this way, actually. They are frustrated by the fact that their doctor and trainer are not on the same page and they are wasting time at both! Within 24 hours of your first session, we will be in contact with your trainer {so long as that's what you want, of course)

  • What type of patients do you work with?

Here is a list of people we can help:

    1) Active adults 30+ who have been injured while exercising and who are looking to get back to exercise, pain free.

    2) Adults 30+ who would like to be active but get hurt every time they try to exercise.

    3) Weekend Warriors who love to play sports but work long stressful hours and don't always have the time to get the proper medical care they need

    4) Serious youth and college athletes who have been injured playing their sport

    5) People who take their health very seriously and can't imagine that taking a 'pill' for every ache and pain is a good idea. They believe that exercise, nutrition, and proper stretching are the keys to good health NOT some silly pill bottle or injection

    6) Pre & Postnatal mommas! Mom’s need a community who they depend on to get them through their pregnancy. Whether it is proactive or pain driven treatment.
